ok so ive been playing for about a week or two. i started out as Caldari and ive done about 3 of the career tutorials. i heard about this sisters of eve arc but i dont see it anywhere. i would expect it to show up in the agent queue where the career missions show up?
i think i saw somewhere that i need a standing of 5.00 with my faction (Caldari?). that seems like a lot...how do i get my standing up to 5.00?
ive also been thinking about joining EVE University...went to theie website and applying to them is almost as laborious as applying to a real university WTF. but...is it really the best way to learn EVE? ive seen all of these forums and youtube vids and many of them recommend EVE Uni, but it seems like a lot of investment.
i guess im just fighting the learning curve. ugh i just want to be good already!! |

i have a friend that joined EVE with me so we both are looking for a corp to join.
sounds like maybe a smaller corp would be best. i got a message from a CEO of a corp because of this post..how do i know its not a trap? |

hey so another question...
how do i increase my standing in a base/station? or should the question be how to i increase my standing with my faction or what not? i thought it was by doing missions..
ok so my friend says that he has no more missions available to him via the agents on the bottom right of the screen..if there are no more mission how would he increase his standing? |

so after finishing (i think) most of the tutorials, i started doing Level 1 security missions. this got real boring real fast. so i decided to join a Corp.
my friend and i ended up joining Brave Newbies because EvE Uni's application process was just ridiculous (what is this? RL Uni?)
i guess now i need to get together with my fellow corp members and figure out how the hell to play this game....right?

again, im new to EvE and MMO's in general. im 28 years old and traditionally Video Games were the realm or nerdy boys.
having said that, i am surprised to see so many females responding to my topic here. now obviously im 100% in favor of more females into gaming, i just didnt know it was this good already..
..or is it that all you dudes just use female avatars lol?
...heck, it might be pretty cool to meet a woman of similar interests here... |

well isnt that disappointing...here i was thinking that this game has an abnormal amount of females playing (not saying that there arent any), but in reality tis not true.
if 'gentlemen' use female avatars.....thats kinda creepy. glad you told me, now i dont get my hopes up hahahah. |

anyways, back to the game and my noobiness.
so yea, even though i joined Brave Newbies, im still not confident in my direction in the game. hopefully BN can help show me the path.
im assuming that ill be messing around for a few months before i true target a specific path here in EvE... |

the idea of a corp is cool and everything, i understand how it works in the game and all of that. However, what would be awesome would be if a veteran took me (in reality me and my friend, unless my friend decides he has his own brain and can make his own decisions) under his/(or HER) wing and have it be more of a one-one relationship. like an apprentice or something like that.
...i might change my mind after i get in touch with my corp leaders for the first time. |

so here is another question....
i see a lot of people saying that i should finish the agent missions up to level 4....how long until you get to level 4 missions. last night i played a bunch of level 1 missions and it took me several hours. will it take me weeks of several hours per day playing to get to level 4, if so WTF, how boring is that... |

yea i dont think missions are for me. seems like a lot of grinding (in some sense) to me. even though i joined 2 weeks ago i have a lil bit of isk. so i think going through different Corps to learn the ropes and figure out what i want to do is my option...who knows...
so...you party huh? the question is...what kind of party? and where is this party?
i wouldnt mind going to one of the EvE get togethers in RL...to bad i live in a place where thats not possible.. |

lol yea yea...obviously i didnt start playing this game with that in mind, but..would be cool though lol.
man i just watched a youtube vid of BNI doing some titan fleet back in july, and man, some of the lingo/jargen i hear makes no sense to me lol. one of those large fleet actions seems to me why i would want to keep playing..that large 4000+ battle at 6VDT-H is what got my attention on this game in the first place. |

You will learn many of them as you go, but when you hear one you dont know you can look it up using this link.

ok so i think that i want to lean towards PVP. the care bear stuff just sounds to boring and time consuming to me (although i know its necessary to fund your PVP adventures)...
but, since i know i have to find a way to finance my PVP adventures, i think i want to delve into exploring, with a long term goal of combat exploring.
...recommendations? |
